Year 4 at Peel Park Primary School in Accrington finally got the train trip they had been waiting for since their participation in Community Rail Lancashire’s art at the station project, ‘Memorable Journeys’. The children had taken part in the project about memorable train journeys just as the country was heading into lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Although the artwork had been installed at Accrington Station, many of the children hadn’t been able to see it due to the restrictions at the time. They had been promised a train trip as part of the project but hadn’t been able to take it at the time.

This week the group took the train to Blackburn where they visited Blackburn Museum and went on a walk around the town centre to discover the various landmarks and hidden gems that Blackburn has to offer. For some this was their first time on the train and they thoroughly enjoyed it!
