Following on from the success of 100 Women 100 Journeys, Community Rail Lancashire are now looking for 100 more stories from women about rail journeys. Again, the team are working with Women’s Aid to raise funds for the charity and raise awareness of the Rail to Refuge programme.

Autism Friendly Stations is a project funded by Northern, building on ongoing work to make rail travel more accessible for Autistic people. It has focused on 3 railway stations: Blackburn, Manchester Victoria and Manchester Oxford Road.

Making Connections Rail Project

Making Connections was an arts-based rail project in Blackburn and Darwen that worked with young people 15-24 years. During August 2022 – May 2023 multiple youth and community groups worked alongside professional creative practitioners to develop new creative pieces that responded to their experiences of rail travel.
