Four members of the Education Team recently enjoyed a visit to Hope in Derbyshire for the latest Northern Education Meeting, thoughtfully organised by Catherine.

Upon arrival at the station, we were welcomed by Catherine Croney and Helen Wright, Community Rail Partnership Officers for the High Peak and Hope Valley. They introduced us to some of the beautiful artwork created by local students, which is proudly displayed at the station.

From there, we took a scenic walk to Hope village to learn more about the developing Steel Cotton Trail, an exciting initiative by the CRP that explores the area’s industrial and railway heritage.

Later in the morning, we gathered at the charming Old Hall Hotel tea rooms for a talk from Dave Savage of CRL. He shared valuable insights on planning engaging and educational school trips using the train network.
