All Aboard! Community Rail Lancashire Launches Fun Booklet for School Train Trips
Community Rail Lancashire is excited to introduce the ‘All Aboard Booklet’, specially created for school groups travelling by train. Designed for KS2 pupils, it’s packed with fun activities to make the journey as enjoyable as the destination! Children can take part in I Spy games, word searches, and even design their own train. There is also space for them to write a report about their trip, perfect for turning a train journey into a learning adventure.
The booklet has been generously funded by Northern Trains, supporting an engaging and educational travel experience for young learners.
So far, the booklets have been used on Community Rail Lancashire lines, but plans are underway to roll them out across other community rail partnerships on the Northern Network.
The team hasn’t stopped there—they’ve also created a guide for planning school field trips by train, offering tips and advice to make travel smooth, safe, and educational.
Whether it’s a day out to the countryside or a visit to a local museum, the ‘All Aboard Booklet’ ensures every train journey becomes an exciting learning experience!
