On Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th November, the Community Rail Conference was held in Nottingham. Karen, Dave, Shahiesta and Catherine attended along with around 200 other professionals who work in the sector nationally.
This year, it was decided they would have an “unconference” theme and members could choose to talk about their own topics rather than a set agenda of external speakers. On the Monday evening, members had the opportunity to put forward topics that were of interest to them. It could be something they’ve worked on or something they want to discuss further like a new ideas.
On the Tuesday morning the sessions were announced and members had the opportunity to go and listen to other topics which interested them. Shahiesta spoke about her work with refugees and Dave and Catherine put together a session on youth engagement.
Lots of new connections were made and ideas shared!
