On Tuesday, 5th December, 30 excited Year 1 pupils from Willow Lane Primary School in Lancaster embarked on an unforgettable Feel Good Field Trip to Bolton Wanderers. This unique journey combined fun, learning, and adventure, leaving the children with cherished memories to last a lifetime.

The day began at Lancaster station, where Dave met the group. He gave an talk about rail safety, ensuring the children were well-prepared for their travels. Armed with new knowledge, the group boarded an Avanti train to Preston. The excitement continued as they changed trains and hopped on a Northern service to Horwich Parkway.

Upon arrival, the young adventurers were warmly greeted by the Bolton Wanderers in The Community team. The children were then treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of the iconic stadium. Highlights included stepping into the press area, exploring the changing rooms, and experiencing the thrill of walking through the players’ tunnel to pitch side.

This trip was part of the Feel Good Field Trip initiative, which has been running since early 2023. Over the past year, the project has provided more than 280 pupils with the opportunity to visit Bolton Wanderers and enjoy similar enriching experiences. The program has been a resounding success, combining educational elements with exciting hands-on activities.
