Dave took students by train from Burnley College to Preston Station to have talks from the British Transport Police and career talks from a range of different staff at Avanti West Coast. 

We had college students studying Police Studies, Business Innovation and Construction Management. 

Students were briefed by Sergeant Laurence Dixon on the importance of collaboration, and the rise in dealing with vulnerable people on the rail network. The groups then had tours of Preston Station to learn how the station is run on a daily basis and how the staff keep customers safe. 

The students also talks from a driver manager, team leader, station manager,  payroll and safety manager. This gave the students a good insight in working within the rail industry.
