Inspiration – the Railway 200 Exhibition Train, an iconic travelling visitor attraction that will showcase 200 years of railway innovations, combining past, present, and future railway milestones with hands-on interactivity and career-focused activities.
Some of the TrainEd team have visited Inspiration on it’s tour so far.
Dave had the exciting opportunity to visit the Rail 200 Inspiration Train at London Euston — not once, but three times in just four days!
On Saturday 12th July, Dave joined forces with Avanti West Coast in the Partner Zone, where he spent the day engaging with hundreds of members of the public. It was a brilliant chance to talk about careers in rail, community projects, and the power of train travel to connect people and places.
Then, on Monday and Tuesday, the focus shifted to young people. As part of the Feel Good Future programme, Dave helped coordinate the travel for five school groups to experience the Inspiration Train for themselves. For many students, it was their first visit to London Euston and for some, their first time on a long-distance train. The visit offered students a hands-on, immersive experience of the rail industry, showcasing everything from design and engineering to becoming a drone pilot and green careers. Feedback from both pupils and teachers has been overwhelmingly positive, with many students leaving inspired by the wide range of roles available within the railway sector.

Whilst visiting family in Kent, Karen and her dad Mick and son Laurie visited Margate station to have a look at Inspiration. Karen is part of the Education and Skills steering group who helped advise on putting the train together and also features as one of the hidden roles in rail as railway teacher. Karen, Mick and Laurie all really enjoyed the experience!
