On Wednesday 8th November Community Rail Lancashire arranged a trip to York Transport Museum and the Network Rail Training Centre for learners studying NVQ Level 2 railway engineering course at Accrington and Rossendale College.

The group of 12 learners along with Ste, the course tutor and Dave travelled on Northern train to York. We had a visit to the new Wonderlab attraction at York Railway museum which is a interactive experience for people of all ages. The adults had just as much fun as the children! Lunch was ate in the museum surrounded by all the trains.

In the afternoon the learners had a guided tour around the Network Rail Training Centre. There were lots of insight for the learners of how the industry works and the opportunities within the industry that the NVQ course can lead to.
