Last week Karen and Catherine headed up to Locomotion Railway Museum in Shildon to support the team from the Bishopline CRP with their education engagement for 4 local secondary schools.
On Tuesday 4th February and Wednesday 5th February, Locomotion opened its doors to 120 year 8 pupils who learnt about keeping safe on the railway and what careers are on offer in the industry. They got to hear presentations, meet a police dog in training, take part in the Backtrack Competition and visit stands at the Careers Fair.
Many other colleagues from the Railway Industry were in attendance including: Northern, LNER, Transpennine Express, Cross Country, Network Rail, Tyne Valley CRP and the BTP.
With Shildon being part of the Darlington to Stockton Railway Route, the area will see lots of celebrations this year as part of Railway 200. To find out more about visiting Locomotion: Home | Locomotion
