Billy Burton, Royal Clitheroel Grammar School student, has researched and written a history poster for the station whilst on work placement at Lancashire Archives with photographs kindly supplied by Peter Fitton. Billy has been supported by Community Rail Lancashire and Avanti West Coast to capture and share the rich history of the station and we are all looking forward to the launch next month.

The event will be held on Saturday 10th February will start at the Preston Railway Station at 10.30am with the opportunity to visit the Community Hub which, thanks to Arts2Heal has been transformed! With new artworks, encouraging messages and a handcrafted, life-sized tree the space can now host community and school groups on visits to Preston Station. After a short walk to the Lancashire Archives & Local History museum refreshments will be available and the chance to see a display of items from the archive’s and local history collections – it really will be a treat!

For catering purposes please confirm your attendance to Caroline.Holden@communityraillancashire.co.uk by Monday 5th February, 2024.
